Privacy.
Plain English version. The full legal version is on file with our lawyers and available on request.
Who we are
ConnectRoots Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada. We make loon.
What we collect
- Your email and license key when you buy.
- Your payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card.
- App version and crash reports if you opt in.
- That is it. No browsing history, no file contents, no ambient audio.
What we do not collect
- Your files, your photos, your messages.
- Your voice recordings.
- Your screen contents.
- Tracking pixels, analytics that follow you across sites.
When loon talks to AI
The words you say to loon are sent to the AI provider you pick (your own key, or our built-in service). What that provider does with the words is governed by their policy. We pick providers that do not train on your data.
Cookies
This website uses one cookie to remember your preferences. No tracking cookies. No third-party cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data. Email hey@heyloon.com. We answer within 30 days.
If we change this
We will tell you by email and on this page before any change that matters.
What stays on your Mac
- Chat history, routines, persona, browser cookies.
- Local SQLite + your Application Support folder.
- No cloud sync unless you opt in. iCloud Drive is your choice, not ours.
What leaves your Mac
- A once-per-launch license check to heyloon.com/api/verify.
- Your AI conversations to api.anthropic.com (direct, using a license-gated bundled key; in a future release we'll route through heyloon for billing only, not storage).
- A Stripe customer portal session URL request when you click "Manage Subscription"; we never see your card or invoices.
Verified, not promised
No Sentry, PostHog, Crashlytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar SDKs are bundled in the LOON binary. Verify with one Terminal command:
otool -L /Applications/LOON.app/Contents/MacOS/LOON
- The Apple Privacy Manifest bundled with the app declares zero data collection.
- Source code is auditable; see docs/LOON/privacy-statement.md for the reproducible commands.
